Deninos Pizzeria is a landmark in New York, with our award winning, thin-crust pizza. We originally opened in 1937 as a full tavern on Richmond Avenue, Staten Island until Carlo Denino introduced Pizza in 1951. Since then, Deninos Pizzeria and Tavern has been renowned for our pizza pie and Italian dinner platters, which we always prepare fresh daily. We use our familys recipes for Chicken Parmigiana, Meatballs and Sausage and over the years we've added our own version of tavern favorites like Wings, Scungilli and Hero Sandwiches. We had our sons engagement party at Deninos and everything was perfect and affordable. The party room is very nice and spacious. The team that helped us was amazing from start to finish and the food was delicious, we had about 5 appetizers, pizzas, pasta, meatballs and chicken franchese. We were able to play music and use the TV for a slideshow. And they did all the cleaning up after. I recommend anyone looking to have a party or gathering to use Deninos.

Margherita pizza pie was delicious. And the French fries here are *honestly* the best fries I've ever had, I think! They are the perfect thickness and you can actually taste the potato. None of that too skinny or too crunchy thing! Service was excellent. My only gripe was that it was such a long wait for 2 people (well, 1 adult and 1 baby needing a high chair). Of course, I did come on a Friday evening, but I definitely did not expect that loooong wait time.

Denino’s is one of those places you instantly understand why people keep coming back to. The service here is incredibly fast. The team works so smoothly that your table never has a single dirty plate sitting for long — everything gets cleared right away without you even noticing. What impressed me the most was the speed of the kitchen. The wings came out hot but not burning, perfectly ready to eat — and while we were still eating them, the pizza was already on the table. That kind of timing is rare. The pizza itself was honestly unforgettable. Crispy, full of flavor, simple but done so right. One of those meals that stays in your head after. I already know I’ll be coming back — and probably sooner than I planned.

Simply put, the trip to Staten Island is worth it for Denino’s. The regular cheese pie alone is outstanding. Perfect crust with that slight crisp underneath, great char on the bubbles, fresh mozzarella, balanced sauce, and just the right amount of basil. It’s simple, but when it’s done this well, that’s all you need. The vodka pie was unreal. The sauce is creamy, rich, and packed with flavor without feeling heavy. It coats the mozzarella perfectly and the crust still holds up slice after slice. That sweet, slightly tangy vodka sauce with the char from the oven is a combination that’s hard to beat. The buffalo wings were excellent. Crispy outside, juicy inside, and the sauce had real flavor, not just heat. The fried zucchini was a sleeper hit. Perfectly breaded, crunchy, and great dipped in marinara. Even the sautéed spinach with garlic was fresh and done right. Denino’s feels old school in the best way. Big menu, generous portions, and food that’s consistent and confident. Nothing trendy. Just really good Italian food and pizza that delivers. The service was amazing too. They were very attentive to us and shook everyone’s hand at the end of the meal. What a great experience!
